ABOUT MOSHIK BEN-UZI
BIOGRAPHY
Moshik is a 44 y/o artist and musician.
Born in Israel, spent his childhood in the city of Rishon Le-Zion,
later studied high school in the arts, and after his military service he participated in painting and sculpturing workshops
of several esteemed teachers.
He currently lives in Tel Aviv, where most of his activities are concentrated.
Alongside painting and sculpturing he's also active as a musician, composer and performer.
"Art has always been my whole world ever since I can remember myself,
the language I know best, where I feel at home, and the thing I want to do for the rest of my life.
It's a wonderful healing tool, both for the artist and the viewer the same,
as long as it touches the truth and pain as honestly as possible.
There should be a room on the canvas for both good and evil, beauty and ugliness. They all deserve to have the same respected treatment.
I try to give space and expression in my art to a full range set of emotions and restrain any of them as little as possible.
My work technique is often very intuitive, with no advance planning.
I usually let the canvas guide me.
The shapes and figures are already there, naturally appearing before me, and my role is to allow them to come out, with as little interference as possible on my part.
My main inspirations are Picasso, Van Gogh, H.R. Giger & Dali."
